The free event hosted by the city will run from 9 am to 2 pm in the park’s big field.
Funfest has historically been held in June but was moved to August this summer because of park improvements being done earlier in the year.
Activities during this year’s Funfest are expected to include archery, painting, weightlifting and more.
“Essentially, what is it is an opportunity for vendors to come out to one dedicated time and space so the community can learn a little bit” about what there is to offer, said Krissy Glavin, the city’s manager of parks and recreation.
“They usually do some demonstrations,” she added.
FunFest is geared to programs and activities aimed at children 13 and under.
Holding the event in August this year will be “timely” for families searching for programs and opportunities for their children for the upcoming fall season, Glavin said.

The city said there will also be entertainment in the park, including juggling and comedy magic shows, food vendors, inflatables and a selfie station.
Glavin said about 25 vendors were signed up but applications are still being taken through the city’s website, www.sarnia.ca,
Lists of vendors, activities and this year’s entertainment schedule can also be found on the website.
Kids FunFest has been offered in the city since 1996. It started out in Centennial Park and then moved to Clearwater Park for several years before moving again last year to Canatara Park, Glavin said.
“We see hundreds” of families attending each year, she said.
“It’s one of our city signature events.”
