INCIDENT ON PLANK ROAD
Few details were available this weekend about an incident Friday night on Plank Road that prompted road closures and an extensive search.
St. Clair Township firefighters posted on social media Friday around 8 pm they were on the scene of a car crash near Waubuno and Plank roads. They asked the public to avoid the area.
In an update about an hour later, they said their remotely piloted aircraft system was flying in the area to assist with the incident. In a final update shortly after 10 pm, they said they cleared the scene, but added Lambton OPP were still there.
Requests Saturday morning for information about the incident from both St. Clair firefighters and Lambton OPP weren’t responded to.
Many on social media posted about road closures in the area and hearing drones or helicopters flying overhead. There were no road closures or signs of emergency responders Saturday morning.
