Sarah Sjöström has begun her hunt for new WC medals.
She struck with a super time in this morning’s trials.
– It was probably my fastest trial swim ever, says Sjöström in SVT.
24.88 was the fastest of all in the 50 meter butterfly trials and only she herself has previously swum faster.
– It was just a good race. I got good flow and a good input. It’s especially nice to show that I’m at my best in 50 meters when I come in fresh and haven’t swum a lot of races before, says Sarah Sjostrom.
Sjöström’s success
Sjöström only now did his first branch in the WC tournament.
– It’s nice to prove to myself and everyone else that this is how I should compete. I’ve been dying to get started, of course.

Together with Sarah Sjöström also went Louise Hansson on to the semi-finals with a time of 25.98.
Seeliger further
Earlier in the morning, Swedish swam Björn Seeliger trials in 50 meter freestyle The time of 21.99 gives Björn Seeliger thirteenth place in the trials in Doha – and a place in the WC semi-final.

It is the third time that the 24-year-old managed under 22 seconds in the 50 meter freestyle.
– It felt good. I haven’t been under 22 many times at all. It is extremely important to make those times, especially this year, Seeliger told SVT.
Australia also swam in the 50 meter freestyle Cameron McEvoy who finished seven tenths ahead of the rest of the field with a time of 21.13.
