Norfolk’s head of paramedic services will move to a new role next month as general manager of health and social services for Norfolk and Haldimand.

Starting October 2, Sarah Page will oversee the teams at the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit, Haldimand-Norfolk Social Services and Housing, and Norview Lodge.

Page, who has 20 years of leadership experience in Norfolk County, had a key role during the COVID-19 pandemic overseeing Haldimand-Norfolk’s vaccine team.

“I am committed to improving the lives of Norfolk and Haldimand residents by delivering services and support that address the growing and changing needs of our community,” Page said in a media release. “I look forward to working with the Haldimand and Norfolk teams and all of our partners across the community in my new role as general manager, health and social services.”

As head of paramedic services, she oversaw and provided direction for paramedic and pre-hospital emergency health services.

In her new position, Page’s priorities will include “ensuring the health, safety and well-being of the community and delivering affordable, accessible, and equitable service options,” said the release.

Page, who has a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from Trent University, also has credentials focused on paramedic care, mental health and wellness, and leadership.

“Sarah was selected after an extensive search led by a third-party recruitment firm. In addition to her impressive background and outstanding leadership qualities, she was able to effectively communicate her vision for the role and department,” said Al Meneses, Norfolk County’s Chief Administrative Officer. “I am looking forward to working with Sarah in her new role.”
