Sara Parkman stops at 18 locations in Sweden and Norway on her summer tour. She has with her a Grammy for this year’s folk music and the songs from last year’s acclaimed album “Eros agape philia”.

She describes the summer tour as important to her as an artist:

“Because so many new venues tend to pop up during the summer and you get to visit new places and audiences that way,” she says.

However, she finds it impossible to choose a favorite place in Sweden to play:

— Sweden is such a large country, so the conditions look so different, and it is very fun to discover this diversity through touring. For example, Norrbotten and Närke are different landscapes and it is a privilege to meet them.

“Little Musical Wonders”

TT: What is the best concert you have seen yourself?

— It’s actually not possible to choose because little musical miracles happen most of the time, I think. But last year I thought it was incredible to listen to Anna von Hausswolff’s organ concert in Katarina church.

TT: What can’t you live without on tour?

— My tour company, otherwise life would be very lonely. As well as headphones and good books.

“Rest in the Gaps”

TT: How much sleep do you get?

— Sleep is half-good because you usually go to bed quite late and get up early to go on to the next stop. And the brain is on high speed so it can be difficult to relax. You can rest in between.

TT: What’s your favorite thing to eat on tour?

— Varied food, haha. It is best when the organizer has prepared the food himself and offers it. Vegetables are healthy and tasty, right? And yogurt!

TT: What’s the first thing you do when you get back home?

— Checking that the flowers are doing well and seeing my family and friends. Washes clothes and enjoys cooking her own food.
