Sara in Nyköping about this year’s Christmas present: I had already planned to buy it

It is the research company HUI that selects this year’s Christmas present. They justify the fact that this year it was a party game in a press release that it is “a gift that unites and creates a sense of belonging for the Swedish people”.

– In a world characterized by war, violence and economic difficulties, the party game becomes an opportunity to disconnect for a while from the outside world and instead experience togetherness with loved ones, says CEO Emma Hurnell in the press release.

“People have had more time”

One person who has noticed an increased interest in party games in recent years is Anna Lång, who is the manager of a store that sells games, among other things, in Nyköping.

– A lot because of the pandemic, I think. People have had more time and people have spent time at home together, says Anna Lång.
