Sara Hector’s matchless performance – beating Shiffrin by 1.5 seconds

Third in slalom on Tuesday. First in giant slalom on Saturday.

Sara Hector has dotted the big shape.

After the first giant slalom in Jasna, Slovakia, the Alpine star led by far.

Hector was a full second ahead of Mikaela Shiffrin.

The reigning Olympic champion in the discipline made a breakthrough on the difficult piste. Several early favorites had problems there. Among other things, Petra Vlhova crashed and had to be taken down the hill packed in a sledge. The Italian Federica Brignone also crashed out.

In the second race, Hector kept the pressure.

No one could upset the 31-year-old who was completely superior. Hector won by a margin of 1.52 seconds to runner-up Shiffrin. Alice Robinson, New Zealand, was third.

The victory was Hector’s first in the World Cup this season. Afterwards, the joy was great.

– It feels absolutely fantastic, she says.

Lisa Nyberg also struck with a strong placement. She turned twelve.
