Säpo has carried out a house search in the Malmö area.
The operation took place on behalf of the Danish security service in a terrorist case.
– We have seized, says prosecutor Henrik Olin.
The details and circumstances surrounding the crackdown are covered by secrecy with regard to international legal cooperation.
Chamber prosecutor Henrik Olin at the National Security Unit has led the case from the Swedish side and was the one who approved the search.
– It was a few days ago, but I don’t want to say what date it was. It is about help with seizures in an ongoing Danish case, he says.
Linked to IS – ten items seized
The investigation is led by PET, the Danish equivalent of the Security Police. The criminal suspects are linked to the terrorist organization IS, the Islamic State.
– It is terror-related, corresponding to our participation crime or similar, says Henrik Olin.
Following PET’s request, several security police in Malmö raided a location and seized a total of ten different items. Olin does not want to comment on what was found.
– It is an ongoing investigation with preliminary investigation secrecy, so I cannot comment on the content or what it is about, but only that we have assisted with help in the form of house searches and seizures.
Tried to get hold of a person
In the investigation, there is a designated person who, according to the prosecutor, is not suspected of a crime but who is connected to the house search. In legal documents it appears that the authorities tried to get hold of the person, but according to the prosecutor it is “likely that he is staying away”.
The district court decided on Thursday that the seized “goods must be handed over to the Danish authorities.”
Säpo confirms through press secretary Karin Lutz that there was an effort, but otherwise does not want to provide any information with reference to the operational activities.
TV4 Nyheterna has been in contact with PET, who asked to return with a comment.
The news has also sought the representative of the person where the search was carried out.
– Unfortunately, I have no comment to make, says lawyer Emil Hofbard.
