On Tuesday, it was time for the Nordic Council’s annual award ceremony in the categories of children’s and youth literature, film, literature, music and the environment.
Among the nominees were both Saia Stueng with her Northern Sami youth novel “Eallá dušche oktii”, as well as Fredrik Prost’s Northern Sami novel “Lengges hearggi Sáhčal fatnasa”.
But both left empty-handed from the award ceremony, where this year’s children’s and youth prize was awarded to Danish Jakob Martin Strid for “The fantastic bus” and the literature prize went to Norwegian Niels Fredrik Dahl for the book “Father’s back”.
The winners in all categories are awarded 300,000 Danish kroner, equivalent to 459,000 Swedish kronor.
