We are at 24:00 on Christmas night, when, according to a very widespread myth in part of the world, Santa Claus will distribute presents. Santa Claus doesn’t show up. He went this way or that way. Impossible to know. No sole marks, no sled marks, not a single reindeer droppings as a clue, and yet the children see it sometimes. Santa Claus remains the greatest mystery of early childhood. He is the most influential imaginary being in the world, the one who, each year, keeps millions of toddlers in suspense.
