The Iraqi government declared tomorrow a public holiday due to the sandstorm that started in the evening and will take the country captive for two days.
OFFICIAL HOLIDAY DECISION
On the instruction of Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazimi, a public holiday was declared tomorrow in all government offices and schools due to the sandstorm that will last for two days and affect the whole country.
Institutions providing health and safety services were excluded from the holiday.
The Iraqi Ministry of Transport announced that flights at all country airports were suspended due to the sandstorm. The Ministry of Education announced that exams in schools have been postponed to Tuesday.
WARNING TO CITIZENS
It is stated that the visibility will decrease below 1 kilometer due to the storm that started in the evening hours.
Iraqi relevant units urged citizens not to go out of the house as there would be a risk of suffocation. (AA)
