Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake Comes with Revolutionary Changes
Despite official announcements that the remake has been completely redesigned and that the Montreal team will build on previously completed work by Ubisoft Mumbai and Pune, it turns out that the project has been tackled from scratch. Information leaked to Insider Gaming shows that the game is still in the early stages of development, with many textures and other assets missing. It makes us think that the release date is still far away.
Another important change is the redesign of the game with a more realistic approach. From graphics to combat and parkour mechanics, every aspect of the game has been handled from scratch. In fact, radical steps were taken such as re-shooting with motion capture technology and completely rewriting the game.
Perhaps the biggest surprise for fans of the original series will be that Yuri Lowenthal, who plays the Prince character, will not appear in the remake. The reasons for Lowenthal’s departure from the project are not yet clear.
