Sandra Näslund has now had surgery – here is the new news about the future

Swedish ski cross star Sandra Näslund has undergone knee surgery to repair her meniscus injury.
If she wants to, she can make a comeback already this season.

Four weeks of rehabilitation awaits the four-time world champion before the next match is made, the Swedish Skiing Association announced in a press release.
“You had to remove a piece of the meniscus that had hit the joint,” says the national team doctor Jakob Swanberg in the press release.

Last week said Sandra Näslund in an interview with SVT that she has probably finished competing for the season, but it is not a given.

According to Jakob Swanberg, it is unclear exactly how long the rehabilitation period will be, but the hope is that Näslund, who won Olympic gold in Beijing 2022, will be able to compete before the season is over.
“Hopefully she can run some competition later in the season”.

It was at a competition in Canada last Saturday that Näslund suffered pain in a knee after landing wrongly in his quarter-final heat. She withdrew from the competition and was subsequently examined in Stockholm where an injury was found.

Six World Cup races remain this season, concluding in Idre March 21–23.
