Samy Manga, the cocoa poet

Samy Manga the cocoa poet

He has 7 hills in his heart, since he comes from Yaoundé. He still and always has the courage of the bark child he was in his equatorial forest of Afane-Ibandè, in the center of Cameroon. Always and again nostalgic for the tragic poem of the cocoa growers.

It is therefore as a writer, ethno-musician and environmental activist that Samy Manga takes us under his first mango tree, where the small seed of revolt was planted in his mind. A 10-year witness to the neocolonial economic relations that green gold multinationals maintain with the countries of the South, he publishes a small politically poetic manifesto entitled Chocolaty, the bitter taste of cocoa cultivation. Enough to make the countries of the North want to boycott this little bar of dark chocolate which perhaps punctuates your evenings. But in general, the bark child is ready to do anything to defend land and sea.
