On June 9, the third season of the viewer dunce “Strandhotellet” premiered on Viaplay and TV3. It is the author, also the detective story queen, Camilla Läckberg which is behind the series, which is about the two rival families Grip and Gyllenmark.

Samuel Fröler played Johan Steen in “The Archipelago Doctor”

During his successful career, Samuel Fröler has become one of our most popular actors. He has appeared in everything from “Three Loves” to “What is hidden in the snow”, and one of his most iconic roles is the wildly popular archipelago doctor Johan Steen.

“The Archipelago Doctor” premiered in 1997 on SVT, and is one of the most popular Swedish television series of all time. The series is about doctor Johan Steen, played by Samuel Fröler, taking over his father-in-law’s archipelago clinic on the fictional island of Saltö. On May 8, 2000, the last episode of “The Archipelago Doctor” premiered, and it has thus been almost 25 years since the recording of the program.

The actors’ relationship – 25 years after “The Archipelago Doctor”

In the role of Johan Steen’s daughter Wilma appeared Ebba Hultkvist Stragneand Marie Richardson played the role of her mother Eva. The retired doctor Axel Holtman was played off Sten Ljunggren and Helena Brodin shouldered the role of the nurse Berit.

But how much contact does Samuel Fröler really have with the other actors in “The Archipelago Doctor”, after approximately 25 years have passed?

– Ebba and I can text each other sometimes. After all, we were in “På spåret” together, says Fröler and continues:

– But otherwise, we don’t actually have much contact. You can see each other in the theater as colleagues. There were a lot of people who were there (in “The Archipelago Doctor” eds. note), so it’s always someone you meet at the theater who has been there. But it’s been a while. It’s been 20 years. Time passes.
