The Finnish men’s national basketball team will meet Georgia for the second time this week on Sunday. Two changes have been made to the team composition after Thursday’s match.
A basketball player Samu Adler makes his debut in the Finnish men’s national team when Susijengi meets Georgia in Sunday’s European Championship qualifying match.
At the club level, 17-year-old Adler, representing Salon Vilpa, is playing his first season in the Korisliiga this season. He replaces captain Sasu Salini in the lineup.
In the match, Adler becomes the youngest basketball player to debut in the Finnish men’s A national team in the 2000s.
For Sunday, Susijengi also gets confirmation from Paris, when Mikael Jantunen related to the composition of the team. He takes by Daniel Dolenc the place.
Jantunen was not involved in the first European Championship qualifying match between Finland and Georgia on Thursday, as his club team Paris Basketball had a Euroleague match that same evening. Jantunen played over 27 minutes and scored 13 points as the team beat Anadolu Efes.
Finland, on the other hand, bowed to Georgia with a score of 83–90.
Since Finland is one of the host countries of next year’s European Championships, its venue is already certain. The EC qualifying games are above all an opportunity for the team to collect ranking points and develop their game.
