Having a phone handy is both important and necessary. But over time, the needs have changed drastically.
At the turn of the millennium there was according to Mail and telephoneboard over six million fixed telephone subscriptions in Sweden. By the end of 2023, that number had dropped to 154,000, representing a whopping 97% drop over 23 years.
Nowadays, instead, 98 percent of the population has a mobile phone.

Samsung? Then the messaging app can mess up
The most popular brands in Sweden are Apple and Samsung. Around 40 percent of Swedes use Android phones, such as Samsung.
However, the phones of the South Korean electronics giant have recently tended to carry a common bug. According to the site Mobile several people have reported that Samsung Galaxy phones crashed when a certain function did not work as it should.
It’s about the messaging app in Galaxy phones that crashes and quits when you use it. However, the fault has turned out to be in the Android operating system, which is designed by none other than Google.
However, the technical problem is not something that requires a workshop visit, but is instead something you can fix on your own.

The reason for the message app crashing is because of Samsung Galaxy’s latest update (One UI6 eds. amn.). The messaging app “collides” with another function, the pre-installed Google Meet app, writes Mobil.
In a forum on Samsung’s own website users are now sharing how to fix the problem. The solution is simply to temporarily disable the Google Meet app or uninstall it completely.
Should you instead need to keep Google Meet, you can resort to another, albeit temporary solution, until Google fixes the bug in the update.
By making the app a so-called “standard app”, the problem with the crashed messaging app should be fixed.
This can be done under “settings” in the phone and then under the heading “apps”.
