Samsung Fires Leakers

Normally, in leaked device images, device identification numbers are hidden by taping certain parts of the device. This way, leaked images cannot be traced back to individuals or the leakers. However, in the Galaxy S25+ case, the images shown in the tweet failed to hide the device ID number. Using this number, Samsung identified the people who leaked the images of the Galaxy S25+ in question.

For those working at phone manufacturers or assembly companies, selling leaked images of a highly anticipated device can be a good source of additional income. However, if you get caught and lose your job, the situation is not very pleasant.

Another tweet shared by @AllAboutSamsung editor Max Jambor shows ID numbers on the Galaxy S25+ that Samsung uses to identify leaking employees. Interestingly, all of this happened a day before Evan Blass leaked Galaxy S25 Ultra and S25+ images, which included the launch date of the Galaxy S25 series.

Companies may view leaks as promotions of future devices, but companies like Samsung complain that leaks reduce the excitement and surprise effect of new product launch events. Large manufacturers prefer to keep the introduction of new products under control and stick to their own marketing plans.
