South Korea-based technology giant Samsungintroduced its 2024 series new monitor models. Again, ambitious options have been prepared.
Making a statement about the models, Samsung detailed the following: quoted: “Samsung Electronics made the global launch of its 2024 Odyssey OLED gaming monitor, Smart Monitor and ViewFinity monitor series. The new and updated monitors are equipped with surprising innovations as well as the features users expect, providing experiences specific to every scenario. OLED G8 in the Odyssey series offers new artificial intelligence features with the OLED experience. Equipped with more advanced entertainment features than previous series, the artificial intelligence-supported M8 model in the Smart Monitor series carries the viewing pleasure forward, while the ViewFinity series turns into a business screen with advanced connectivity features. Among the 2024 Samsung Odyssey OLED models introduced, the new Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD model) and Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SD model) take the new generation OLED performance forward. Standing out as Samsung’s first flat-screen 32” OLED gaming monitor, Odyssey OLED G8 has 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio, 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03 Hz for ultra-smooth and responsive gaming experience. It has a gray-to-gray (GtG) response time of ms. Odyssey OLED G6 with 27” QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution supports 16:9 aspect ratio. The monitor’s 360Hz refresh rate and 0.03 ms GtG response time allow gamers to play fast and active games comfortably.

The new Odyssey OLED G8 was introduced as Samsung’s first OLED gaming monitor with artificial intelligence support. The monitor with the NQ8 AI Gen3 processor in Samsung’s 2024 model 8K TV product increases the resolution of the content to values close to 4K when using the Samsung Gaming Hub and the monitor’s native Smart TV applications, to provide higher resolution in gaming and entertainment content than previous models.
Both new OLED models feature Samsung OLED Safeguard+, a new and proprietary screen-burn protection technology. Thanks to this technology, the vibrating heat pipe on the monitor prevents screen burns. The Dynamic Cooling System evaporates and condenses the coolant liquid to dissipate heat five times more effectively than the old graphite sheet method. This reduces the temperature in the center and prevents burns. The monitor also detects on-screen static images such as logos and taskbars and automatically reduces their brightness, another way to prevent screen burn-in.
The Odyssey OLED G8 and OLED G6 models offer impressive OLED image quality with a typical brightness of 250 nits. The FreeSync Premium Pro feature ensures synchronization of the GPU and the display panel, preventing choppy, overlapping and delayed images. Samsung’s new OLED Glare Free technology reduces reflections while maintaining image sharpness and color accuracy to deliver an impressive viewing experience even in daylight.
Thanks to the low-reflection coating optimized for OLED displays, the new and special hard layer and surface coating texture, the balance between brightness and reflection is easily achieved. The Core Lighting+ feature, available on both monitors with a super-thin metal design that gives a different visual identity, improves the entertainment and gaming experience by synchronizing the screen and ambient lighting. The ergonomic stand offers adjustable height, tilt and rotation support, making long viewing pleasure comfortable.
The new Odyssey OLED monitors are described as the next step strengthening Samsung’s leadership in the OLED monitor market. These monitors were introduced to the market after Samsung captured first place in global sales in the OLED monitor market, just a year after the launch of the first OLED model. This achievement underscores Samsung’s rapid rise in the competitive market landscape of OLED monitors and reinforces the company’s commitment to diversifying its gaming monitor lineup with models featuring proprietary OLED technology.
The updated Smart Monitor series brings together the complete multi-device experience in one place, offering smarter entertainment content and greater productivity than previous series. The 2024 models being developed include M8 (model name M80D), M7 (model name M70D) and M5 (model name M50D). The developed 32-inch 4K UHD Smart Monitor M8 offers new features supported by artificial intelligence with its NQM AI processor and takes the entertainment experience to the next level. The resolution upscaling feature with artificial intelligence (AI Upscaling) upscales low-resolution content to values close to 4K. Active Voice Amplifier Pro feature analyzes the background noise in the user’s environment with the support of artificial intelligence to optimize the dialogues in the content. The 360 Degree Sound Mode on the M8 model pairs with Galaxy Buds to create an immersive sound environment, while the Built-in SlimFit Camera makes it easier to make video calls in mobile applications via the Samsung DeX platform.
Workout Tracker, a new addition to the entire Smart Monitor series, can pair with the Galaxy Watch and provide real-time exercise data on the screen even while watching content. This feature makes it easier to follow exercise goals and makes working out enjoyable. The new features added enhance the functionality of the impressive Smart Monitors. Applications on Smart TV provide access to rich video services and live content without the need to connect to a computer or other devices. The M7 model, which has 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution, 300 nits (Typ.) brightness value and 4 ms gray-to-gray (GtG) response time, will be on sale in 32″ and 43″ sizes. The M5 model, offered in 27” and 32” options, has FHD resolution (1920 x 1080), 250 nits brightness value (Typ.) and 4 ms GtG response time.
Optimized for creatives and professionals and manufactured with environmentally responsible processes, the latest ViewFinity series includes the ViewFinity S8 (model names S80UD and S80D) and ViewFinity S6 (S60UD and S60D). Made with at least 10% recycled plastic materials, the plastic components in the new 2024 ViewFinity monitors are not sprayed with chemicals to support recycling efforts. Adhesives are used instead of staples in the monitor boxes for easy separation. Assembled in one click without requiring any tools or screws, the Easy Installation Stand makes the installation of ViewFinity with vibrant display enjoyable, fast and easy. All 2024 ViewFinity monitors offer accurate color representation by supporting HDR10 with 1 billion colors. The monitors also feature TÜV-Rheinland certified Smart Eye Comfort features during long work sessions.
ViewFinity S8 is available in 27″ and 32″ display options, each with 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution, 60Hz refresh rate and 350 nits (Typ.) brightness. Also featuring a USB hub and a height-adjustable stand for easy connectivity, the S80UD model in the ViewFinity S8 series includes a new KVM switch for easy connection and switching between two different devices, and USB-C that allows users to charge their devices with up to 90W power. It is also equipped with a connection point. ViewFinity S7 is available in 27″ and 32″ options, each with UHD 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution, 350 nits (Typ.) brightness and 60Hz refresh rate. ViewFinity S6, on the other hand, is available in 24″, 27″ and 32″ options, each with QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution, 100Hz refresh rate and 350 nits (Typ.) brightness, USB ports and a height-adjustable stand. Additionally, the S60UD model has a built-in KVM switch and a USB-C port that offers up to 90W charging.”
