Samsung Galaxy S22 Plusbigger Galaxy S22 Ultra and smaller Galaxy S22 is among. People naturally gravitate towards the biggest and smallest things; that is, the middle model has to prove herself in a way that her siblings cannot. Galaxy S22 Pluswent on sale as a flagship that struggled hard to create an appealing identity on its own. well from S22 It promises more, and much less than the S22 Ultra. Let’s examine the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus together.

Instead of redesigning its latest phones, Samsung preferred to renew it. Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus, Galaxy S21 PlusIt appears as a version of ‘ with a few details added. However, there are some fine details that give the S22 Plus its own identity.
Samsung has also made the building material of higher quality. The metal frames were constructed with a material called Armor Aluminum (armor aluminum). It should also be noted that the glass front panel and the back are completely protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. The phone is water and dust resistant.
Samsungchanged the shape of the phone, albeit a tiny bit. It has shortened the side edges to make them slightly flatter and less rounded than the S21 Plus. The company has also reduced the curvature where the rear panel meets the frame. These items give the phone a slightly classier feel.
Samsung’s If there is one design element that it has not changed much, we can say that it is the camera part. The device bears the shape of the camera in the S21 Plus, but with all the color appealing two-tone shades except those exclusive to Samsung’s online store. Also, Samsung promises a complete look by eliminating the bezel on the camera housing.
Samsungmanaged to reduce the dimensions and weight of the S22 Plus enough to make it more compact and lighter than the S21 Plus. We can say that it has a good balance between being very big and being very small. Also, the phone’s smoother, rounded exterior makes it much more comfortable to hold and use than the S22 Ultra.
In terms of security, the Galaxy S22 Plus has an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint reader. We would have preferred the fingerprint scanner to be a little larger, although it is extremely fast. Still, Samsung is back with another great design. In addition, the buttons continue to be on the right.
Screen
- 6.6 inch, Dynamic AMOLED 2x
- 2,340 x 1,080 resolution
- 390ppi
- 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 120Hz refresh rate
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus has a screen that looks like it’s detached when you look at its basic features. It measures 6.6 inches and is 0.1 inches shorter than the Galaxy S21 Plus. For comparison, the S22 Ultra’s screen is 6.8 inches and the Galaxy S22’s screen is 6.1 inches. Along with the minor change in size, the S22 Plus slightly reduces the raw pixel count and pixel density, but maintains the same maximum refresh rate as last year’s phone.
These basics promise you a really good experience. Some rival phones have higher resolution screens, but most are in the same size range and refresh rate, and the FHD+ resolution is more than adequate for this size.
By the way, you cannot control the resolution on this phone (like downgrade to HD+ to save power). Galaxy S22 Ultra on the contrary HD+, FHD+ and QHD+ It allows you to choose between Despite that, websites, apps, games, and video streaming services all look clean and sharp, so there’s nothing to worry about.
We know Samsung exaggerates things at times, but the S22 Plus display has a nice color profile that most people will appreciate. If you don’t like it, you can choose from several preset color profiles or search for your own color levels.
Display Performance
While the display supports speeds as low as 48 Hz, the application processor can send data to the display at speeds as low as 10 Hz. Despite the display’s 48 Hz limitation, Samsung says that the display and processor working together helps reduce power consumption. The S22 Ultra’s screen can drop to as low as 10Hz in comparison. It’s easy to see the difference between 60Hz and 120Hz when scrolling, but that difference doesn’t significantly affect most other activities on the phone.
The phone, meanwhile, supports a touch sampling rate of 240 Hz. The 240Hz speed is pretty good, but not as fast as some dedicated gaming phones. This means the phone and game controls will respond faster when you press the glass.
The killer feature of the S22 Plus is called Vision Boost. You can thank Dynamic AMOLED 2X lighting for this feature, which provides brightness levels of up to 1,750 nits. This incredible brightness (same as the S22 Ultra) allows you to use the phone outdoors in direct sunlight with complete ease.
Performance
- Exynos 2200
- Adreno 730
- 8GB of RAM
- 128GB/256GB non-expandable storage
There are two global variants of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus: one with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and the other with the Samsung Exynos 2200 processor. The model, which is on sale in our country, has the Exynos processor as usual. The Exynos 2200, meanwhile, replaces the Exynos 2100, both of which power the Galaxy S21 Plus in their respective regions.
Samsung has kept the RAM stable on this model with 8GB of RAM. The phone does not have any additional RAM options. We would definitely prefer 256GB of storage to be accompanied by 12GB of RAM for multitasking, as flagship seekers at this price point are still hungry for the best features.
Similarly, the S22 Plus could do just that by offering at least one more storage model. Meanwhile, the phone has 128GB and 256GB storage and does not support microSD cards. This is annoying, especially when compared to the Apple iPhone 13 Pro, which has up to 1TB of storage.
Meanwhile, the performance of the Exynos processor lags a little behind the Snapdragon processor. But the phone’s graphics processor managed to outperform the A15 Bionic and easily outstripped the Snapdragon 888, previous Exynos processors and Google’s Tensor processor. Then we can say that the S22 Plus is a very capable gaming phone. On the cellular front, the phone supports both mmWave and sub-6GHz 5G. We are not sure if we will be able to use 5G when it is available in our country.
Software
- Android 12
- A User Interface 4.1
- Four years of OS updates, five years of security updates
The Galaxy S22 Plus comes with Android 12 and Samsung’s own One UI 4.1 skin. These are the latest software available and prepare the phone for a long future. That’s because Samsung is committed to keeping the S22 series and other Galaxy phones up to date with four years of operating system updates and five years of security updates. One UI 4.1 works fine on S22 Plus. As we noted in our performance analysis, the phone runs general system software and apps flawlessly.
Battery Life and Charging
- 4.500mAh
- 45W wired charging
- 15W wireless charging
- Wireless Power Sharing
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus had a 4,800 mAh battery at the time, which was an outstanding battery for its price category and device class. In 2022, most $1,000 flagships should come with a 5,000mAh battery. But the S22 Plus is a little disappointing with its 4,500mAh battery.
On an average day with the S22 Plus, we got about seven hours of screen time. That’s a little more than what I got with the S22 Ultra. Also, the phone was ending the day with a little more charge. This allowed us to use the phone until the morning of the next day before charging it. In summary, the Galaxy S22 Plus delivered better battery life, despite the difference in battery capacities.
Like the Ultra, the S22 Plus charges at a maximum of 45W with a USB Power Delivery PPS compatible charger. Samsung doesn’t ship a charger in the box so you need to get one. You can get excellent charging times for the S22 Plus by using a Samsung 45W charger. Usually in just over 50 minutes it charged immediately. It charges halfway in 25 minutes. This isn’t the fastest charging we’ve seen, but it’s fast enough for most.
Wireless charging is the same as the Galaxy S22 Ultra. So it’s limited to 15W. Our 18W Qi wireless pad needed a full 90 minutes to charge the Galaxy S22 Plus from scratch; This is a significant improvement over the wireless charging time required for the S22 Ultra’s larger battery. By the way, reverse wireless charging at 4.5W is also available on the phone. Charging accessories such as smart watches is slow, but the S22 Plus does not lag behind its competitors in this respect.
Camera
- 50MP, Dual Pixel AF, OIS, ( f /1.8, 1.0μm)
- 12MP ultra-wide, ( f /2.2, 1.4μm, 120-degree FoV)
- 10MP telephoto, 3x optical zoom, OIS ( f /2.4, 1.0μm)
- 10 MP front camera, ( f /2.2, 0.7µm, 80-degree FoV)
- 4K video up to 60fps, 8K up to 24fps
The camera module of the Galaxy S22 Plus looks the same as that of the S21 Plus, but a lot has changed. While previous generations reserved all camera upgrades for the Ultra, this year Samsung added a bit more features to the S22 and S22 Plus models. In other words, the S22 Plus promises camera features similar to the Ultra model.
Where the S22 Ultra has a 108MP main camera, the S22 Plus’ main camera drops to 50MP. Still, this is a huge improvement over the 12MP camera we saw on last year’s S21 Plus, which itself is taken from the Galaxy S20 Plus. The Galaxy S22 Plus also has the same 12MP ultra-wide camera as the S22 Ultra and the same 10MP 3x optical telephoto camera.
Meanwhile, the phone has a lower resolution 10MP selfie camera but promises the same video recording capabilities. Most importantly, the S22 Plus comes with the same advanced new shooting tools to be used, such as AI-powered “Nightography” and specially coated glass to reduce glare. The S22 Plus can take portraits from both the main camera and the telephoto camera. Moreover, it brings 10x, 20x and 30x zoom features. The phone’s night mode and ideo shots are really good.
pros
- excellent screen
- powerful camera
- Solid battery life
- First-class hardware
- First-class performance
- The best software support on any Android phone
cons
- Speaker is a little weak
- Limited memory and storage support
Can it be bought?
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus is no different from the S22 Ultra. Except for minor details, it almost even competes with the Galaxy S22 Ultra. The only thing missing from the top model is a few camera details and S Pen support… But apart from that, it is a phone that you can easily choose with its remarkable camera features, striking design and good battery life.
