for 2022 Samsunghas updated the “A” series with several new models. Galaxy A33 and Galaxy A53besides one Samsung Galaxy A13 there is also. While this is just an idea, neat triple camera and in black, white and blue colors It’s a good looking phone with the glossy plastic finish available. It may be too plain for some, but the minimalist design appeals to users.
It has a large, quality screen, a large-capacity battery, and expandable storage, all for an attractive price tag. But is it worth buying? Let’s learn together.
Design
You can get the Samsung Galaxy A13 in black, white, peach or blue depending on which country you are in. In our country, there are blue, black and white colors. As you’d expect at this price point, the entire design is very simple and plastic, but it’s also nicely curved and put together really well.
In other words, it feels like a long-lasting phone, and it’s nice that the rear camera module is recessed into the back of the phone, in the upper-left corner – something Samsung has done in all its Galaxy phones this year.
You might think it looks like a more expensive phone than it does at first glance, and in this case you realize that the design and engineering teams have done a good job.
The dimensions of the phone are determined by the 6.6-inch display – 165.1 x 76.4 x 8.8mm, meaning it comes in at 6.5 inches x 3 inches x 0.35 inches. The phone weighs 195 grams and is actually a relatively compact phone by today’s standards and is comfortable and easy to hold.
When you look at the phone, there are volume controls on the right side and just below it is the power button with integrated fingerprint sensor. There is a USB-C port at the bottom and a 3.5mm headphone jack is also located next to it. Unfortunately, the A13 does not have a waterproof and dustproof certificate.
Screen
The Samsung Galaxy A13 has a 6.6-inch, 2408 x 1080 LCD display that does a good job with websites, photos, videos and games. There weren’t any real complaints about the screen, though it’s suitably bright, vibrant, clear, and has no support for HDR or above 60Hz refresh rate.
The center display has a drop notch at the top, and while the bezels aren’t the thinnest you’ll come across, they’re not very pleasing to the eye. The rounded corners of the screen look a little too rounded, but it’s still not a big issue that could keep you from buying the Galaxy A13.
While the standards for this display panel aren’t up to the standards of the OLEDs Samsung has stuck to the front of some of its more expensive phones, it’s still one of the best parts of the overall Galaxy A13 package. Since it’s not OLED though, you don’t have the standard options for adjusting color vibrancy and temperature.

Performance and Hardware
The Samsung Galaxy A13 comes with Exynos 850 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage that you can expand with a microSD card if needed.
You can’t get away with less if you want to run the latest version of Android, and the phone gets occasional stutters and lags when navigating apps and menus.
This phone is backed by Geekbench 5 scores of 155 (single-core), 586 (multi-core), and 678 (OpenCL), some of the lowest scores we’ve seen on a phone this year. You’ll be able to run whatever you want to run, but you’ll have to put up with slower speeds than you’d get from a more expensive phone.
While we don’t consider the Galaxy A13’s slowness to be a huge issue when using it, it’s noticeable and we can’t tell you how the phone will perform a year or two after purchase. It will likely start to slow down faster over time than a mid-range or flagship phone.
As for the software, the Galaxy A13 launches with Android 12, the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system. However, this is not a completely new experience as Samsung has added its own One UI 4.1 operating system on top of it.
If you’ve ever used a Samsung smartphone, you’ll feel right at home. Samsung doesn’t usually change things up too much, but this latest version comes with a revamped privacy dashboard alongside new personalized widget suggestions. If an app is using your microphone or camera, a green status indicator now appears in the top right corner, which is a nice touch.
Camera
There are four cameras in total: 50MP wide, 5MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro and 2MP depth cameras. On the video side, the phone can shoot up to 1080p at 30 frames per second.
The 50MP main camera is the star of the show and you can take really great looking photos in good light and with plenty of time to keep the phone stable. There’s no optical zoom, but the digital zoom does a decent job picking out details, while HDR processing can keep details visible in darker and lighter areas.
The camera is starting to struggle in low light: the pictures you’ll get in the dark aren’t great, but they’re usable in some situations. On the front, there’s an 8MP wide selfie camera that covers the basics well, though it doesn’t go beyond that.
No doubt you can get a phone camera that takes much better photos for a little more money, but the Samsung Galaxy A13 won’t let you down most of the time. Camera performance will probably be better than you would expect from such a cheap phone.
The video is shot at a maximum resolution of 1080p at 30fps, and there’s a 720p option if you’re being conservative with file sizes. However, there is absolutely no mention of any type of stabilization, regardless of resolution, so while the footage looks mostly detailed, it’s not perfect.
Battery and Charger
The Galaxy A13 comes with a 5,000mAh battery, and a normal amount of usage will last you for a day – if you’re really careful, you could get two days out of it.
The phone was tested with an hour of video streaming at low volume and with the screen set to maximum brightness; this reduced the battery level by 10% and meant a total of about 10 hours of playback. You can dim the screen and make it even longer, so watching movies on long-distance trips is no problem.
You get a pretty standard 15W wired charging speed with the A13, and wired charging is your only option – there’s no wireless charging here, which is exactly what is expected of a smartphone in this price range.
