Samsung announces three new automotive chips

Automatic V series. Samsung said in a statement that it plans to actively respond to growing demand for “high-end” automotive chips that can handle greater entertainment consumption and increased electrical components in cars.

Samsung Exynos Auto T5123 is a 3GPP Version 15 telematics control unit that provides fast and seamless 5G connectivity to next generation connected vehicles in both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) mode. It aims to present information in real time via high speed download up to 5.1 Gbps. It has two Cortex-A55 CPU cores and an onboard Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). It supports a high-speed PCIe (PCI Express) interface and low-power high-performance LPDDR4x mobile DRAM to process data.

The Exynos Auto V7 is built for in-vehicle infotainment and includes eight Cortex-A76 cores and 11 Arm G76 GPU cores clocked at 1.5GHz. There are also NPUs for services such as virtual assistance that can process visual and audio data. It supports up to four displays and 12 camera inputs and also has three HiFi 4 sound processors. It comes with support for high bandwidth up to 68.3GB/s and LPDDR4x memory capacity up to 32GB. The Exynos Auto V7 is currently in mass production and is used in Volkswagen’s latest In-Vehicle Application Server (ICAS) 3.1.

Finally, S2VPS01 is a PMIC (Power management integrated circuits) for Exynos Auto V9 and V7. It regulates and straightens the flow of electrical power. The chip contains high efficiency triple/dual phase converters and integrates a low output regulator (LDO) and real time clock (RTC) in the package.

The power IC comes with various protection functions, including overvoltage protection (OVP), undervoltage protection (UVP), short circuit protection (SCP), overcurrent protection (OCP), thermal shutdown (TSD), clock monitoring and output. stuck checks.
