Ten years after the debut single, Samir Badran and Viktor Frisk made a comeback in the Melodifestivalen last winter with the song Hela världen vender – but once there it didn’t go as they had hoped.
The sound, the number and their votes were wrong, and there was a repass in the first round. And afterwards, the duo had to endure hate on social media, as Samir Badran testified in an attention-grabbing post on Instagram.
– It was the most disgusting thing I have done in my life. It was probably the worst slap I’ve ever received, he says in Nyhetsmorgon.
Viktor Frisk fills in:
– I think the number was nice. We did a good job, it was the voices above all that went wrong. And then we chose the wrong song.
Supported each other
The duo says that they have received a lot of love as well, but that it was hard at times, and that it was lucky that they had each other.
– You were scrolling TikTok and it was “high chaparral” in the brain, and I don’t think I got as much support from anyone else as I got from Samir, says Viktor Frisk.
Now they aim to come back strong with new music, even if the Mello song has had a revival and become a hit.
– Now it’s the only song people want to hear when we gig. People love that damn song, says Samir Badran.

Going up against Taylor Swift
This weekend they play in Skövde, and next week they come to Stockholm.
But there they will have stiff competition to say the least.
– It’s supposed to be 23 degrees and sunny, but there’s a problem: Taylor Swift is driving at the same time. But maybe we can stand outside the arena and say that if it’s too expensive, they can see us instead, says Viktor Frisk before Samir Badran concludes:
– So they can see “Taylor Swift from Wish!”
