Samhall in Norsjö sews protective vests for dogs – to protect against wolves and wild boar

It was at the beginning of May this year that Samhall in Norsjö received a large order from the family company Dogtech in Skavsta outside Nyköping.

– This year alone we will manufacture 1,000 protective vests that will protect hunting dogs against wolf attacks and wild boar attacks, says supervisor Nina Lindkvist.

A total of 22 people work at Samhall in Norsjö and right now the new assignment employs between 8-9 people, including Jenni Laine.

– Funny that we can be seen and that people appreciate our competence in Norsjö, she says.

Will increase production going forward

Samhall in Norsjö has already sewn nearly 600 protective vests and if everything goes according to plan, production will increase in the future.

– There is a hope that we will be able to manufacture around 3,000 protective vests per year, says Pär Lundkvist, area manager at Samhall in Norsjö and Skellefteå.

How come you moved the production to Norsjö?

– We didn’t really think the quality was up to par with our previous suppliers. We contacted Samhall who looked at where they have staff who can sew and it was in Norsjö, says entrepreneur Göran Hallman.
