He was granted a residence permit because he risked torture in his home country Iraq, according to the Migration Board.
Instead, Salwan Momika, 38, was shot dead in an apartment in Södertälje tonight, according to information to Aftonbladet.
The Qur’an burner is said to have been broadcast live on social media during the murder, according to information that the police are investigating.
Shortly after 23 o’clock it came in as a tip to the police.
Koran burner Salwan Momika had had a live broadcast on Tiktok – and been shot in the middle of it, something that Aftonbladet also received information about.
In an apartment in a multi -family house in Hovsjö in Södertälje, the police found that the tips were correct.
The 38-year-old was found shot to death and a great effort began.
The police turned upside down on the house.
“We are looking internally and externally in the house,” said Daniel Wikdahl, press spokesman at the Stockholm police during the night.
Momika became nationally known during the Qur’an burns in Sweden a few years ago.
His manifestations against Islam created a diplomatic crisis for Sweden during the NATO process and helped to raise the level of terrorist threat.

At the end of May last year, Momika, whose home country is Iraq, received a renewed time -limited residence permit in Sweden that was valid for one year.
“He is at risk of being subjected to torture and inhuman treatment if he returns to his home country,” said Jesper Tengroth, Press Manager at the Migration Board, to Aftonbladet last year.
In an email, Momika wrote:
“Maybe I’m the only real refugee in Sweden or Europe that needs support”.
“I am grateful for Sweden and I love Sweden and its people, despite all the legal persecution. I have been exposed to this in Sweden ever since I demonstrated and expressed my opinion. The Swedish courts also hurt me in several cases and were not justice against me, especially in the asylum case, ”wrote the Koran burner.
Momika was charged with heat against people in connection with four different Koran burns in 2023.
