Salming’s tribute concert canceled – money squandered

A concert tour to pay tribute to Börje Salming is cancelled.
The organizer has been reported to the police for fraud and embezzlement, writes
The evening paper.
– I have relapsed into gambling addiction. That is where the money has gone, says the organizer to the newspaper.

Jon Henrik Fjällgren, LaGaylia Frazier, Mariette, Rickard Söderberg, and Uno Svenningsson are among the artists who would perform at six arena concerts to pay tribute to hockey legend Börje Salming.

The financial surplus would go to Börje Salming’s foundation and finance research into ALS, the disease that took his life.

At the end of November, the concerts are postponed to the future, writes Aftonbladet. Now the 9,500 ticket buyers have received notice from the ticket company Tickster that they cannot reach the organizer and therefore cannot repay the money.

“In addition to this, we have received information that the organizer will probably also be declared bankrupt and that a police report has also been made regarding this specific case,” writes Tickster, according to the newspaper.

Reported to the police by Jon Henrik Fjällgren

It is Jon Henrik Fjällgren who has reported the organizer to the police for fraud and embezzlement.

The organizer tells Aftonbladet that he suffers from gambling addiction.

– I have lived under too much stress for too long and not taken responsibility for my illness, so right now I am undergoing treatment. That is what has happened, says the man.

– My anxiety and shame, it is impossible to put into words.
