Salma, 24, was wounded in the Gaza bombings: “The situation is much worse than social media suggests” | A studio

Salma 24 was wounded in the Gaza bombings The situation

We made a video call to the hospital in Cairo, where Salma Mohammed from Gaza is recovering from her injuries.

Supplier Salma Mohammed, 24, was forced to leave her home in Gaza City in November. The family sought shelter from a family acquaintance, Salma says in a video call from a hospital in Cairo.

However, the building was hit by Israeli bombardment, and Salma was wounded.

This has happened to an estimated 70,000 other Gazans during the war.

Information about the wounded and dead in Gaza is based on information from the health authorities under the extremist organization Hamas. For example, the UN considers the figures to be correct.

Salma says that the trip to Egypt for treatment was difficult.

– For two months I was in pain and had to fear that I would lose my leg.

Although Salma is getting the treatment she needs now in Egypt, the situation is not easy there either.

According to Salma, for example, the movement of Palestinian patients outside the hospital is restricted.

Even more difficult is the fact that Salman’s family is still in Gaza, where the war continues to be bloody.

– I want everyone to understand that the situation in Gaza is catastrophic. It’s worse than you could imagine based on TV, the web and social media.
