As director general of the Employment Agency, Maria Mindhammar earns SEK 157,700 a month. Both her current and future salary, she takes up the position at the Migration Agency on September 18, is higher than what the former director general Mikael Ribbenvik earned. His monthly salary was SEK 146,200.
Mindhammar’s new salary places her in fifth place on the list of the best-paid heads of state authorities. National Police Chief Anders Thornberg has the highest salary with his 179,900 kroner a month.
In addition to the salary, Maria Mindhammar also receives compensation for accommodation in Norrköping, where the Migration Agency’s headquarters are located. In addition, she receives compensation for four trips per month between Norrköping and her home town of Gothenburg.
It is the government that decides on the salaries of the directors-general.
