Gustavs Grigals will not join SaiPa. There are no costs for SaiPa due to the transfer mess.
Lappeenranta’s SaiPa says that the Latvian goalkeeper does not Gustavs Grigals move to the club despite the previously stated agreement.
– We have had a good-spirited discussion with the player-agent as well as Trencin and we reached a final solution in which the contract made by SaiPa is cancelled. Liiga-SaiPa will not incur any expenses from this solution, SaiPa’s sports director Harri Aho commented in the announcement.
SaiPa announced the goalkeeper’s contract last Sunday, but Slovakian club Dukla Trenci denied the transfer as a misunderstanding. Dukla Trenci assured that the club owns the player’s rights until the end of the season.
According to the Lappeenranta club, the background was the announcement of the player agent, because according to him, Grigals would have been free to move to Finland. Grigals was supposed to patch up the injured Filip Lindbergwhen Oskari Salminen moved to the ranks of JYP.
