Sailing: Swedish duo Anton Dahlberg and Lovisa Karlsson fourth in the 470 sailing – going for an Olympic medal

The last sailing of the day outside Marseille was canceled due to too light winds.

Thus, the points standings are ready for the final medal race which will be held on Wednesday, starting at 15.43.

Olympics in Paris 2024

  • Today’s Olympic highlights 7 August

  • Austria leads

The pair Dahlberg/Karlsson have gone strong in the capricious bay and are now fourth overall after all the basic races have been completed. They are chasing Austria, who leads on 24 points, second-placed Spain on 31 points and third-placed Japan on 35. The Swedish pair have 39.

It is therefore necessary to take as few points as possible in the race, where first place has received one stick, second place two, and so on. In the medal race, where only the top ten qualify, double points are awarded. Thus, the overall standings can change quite drastically.

    An Olympic medal in Paris

Emil Järudd and Hanna Jonsson finish ninth in the Nacra 17 catamaran class after twelve basic sailings and are ready for Wednesday’s final race, but the Swedish duo is far from the medals.

Sweden already has a silver in sailing during the Olympics from the couple Rebecca Netzler and Vilma Bobeck.
