When it came time for Saga’s boyfriend to be heard in court, he was clear.

He says he absolutely did not kill her and their unborn child.

– I loved Saga and our joint child. I certainly did not murder Saga.

The fifth trial day in the long trial against Saga’s suspected murderer became emotional.

When Saga’s mother heard about her daughter, and the day she found her dead, many in the hall cried.

The mother told how she came home to Saga’s apartment just after lunch on April 29 last year. She hadn’t gotten hold of Saga all day and she wondered how things had gone the night before, when Saga’s boyfriend was finally going to tell his family about the girlfriend and that they would soon have a baby.

“She’s so cold”

But no one opens either when the mother knocks or shouts through the mail bin, so in the end she goes inside.

– I shout “hello what are you doing?” At the same time, I see that the table is not in its place and that the wardrobe door is open and there are clothes on the floor.

At the same time, she hears the faucet flushing, it is on “full blast,” she describes.

– Then I see that Saga is on the floor. I have my other daughter on the phone and I say: they have killed her.

The mother calls 112.

– I run around screaming and gaping because my daughter is lying there completely dead. 112 wants me to do CPR but she’s as stiff as a dog so it’s no use.

The mother takes Saga’s hand.

– She is so cold.

Saga’s sister and father were also heard on Wednesday. They and the mother talked about Saga, about a young woman who longed to become a mother. A kind, loyal and funny woman with a lot of integrity.

The father said that he spoke to Saga almost daily, but not on the day she was murdered.

Only after she died did he discover that he had a missed call from his daughter that she had called him on April 28.

– I’ve thought about it a lot, I wonder what it was she wanted. Imagine if I had answered, says the father.

“I loved Saga”

When it came time for Saga’s boyfriend to be heard, an interrogation that will continue on the next court day, which will be April 24, he began by distancing himself from all the accusations leveled against him.

– I consider that the investigation that has been conducted against me has been done with prestige, he said.

– I loved Saga and our common child and have never had any thoughts, ideas or plans to kill Saga. Violence is not in my nature. I certainly did not murder Saga.

He and his defense lawyer believe that the perpetrator must be someone else.

The 22-year-old has claimed that he stored things for criminals in Saga’s apartment and that this may have led to the murder. He also claims that Saga must have known that he kept the things.

This is something that Saga’s mother, who lived with her in her apartment, completely rejects.

– No, Saga would never allow that. She hates criminal people and she wouldn’t want to be anywhere near that, says the mother.

The trial continues on April 24.

  • Now, unfortunately, I have to take a train.

The little that remains of the trial today will probably be mostly about growing up.

But for those of you who want to follow the last half hour (which I think it’s about), I recommend following one of these live reports.

    or

    na.se

Thanks to everyone who followed and asked wise questions.

  • The 22-year-old says that he got into some bad company for a while.

Were there any rules set up at home?

    – No, not rules like that. It was more about having common decency.

  • The fact that the prosecutor asks a lot about his upbringing and faith and so on is because she believes that the murder of Saga was an honor killing, that the 22-year-old carried it out to maintain his family’s honor.

The 22-year-old has denied both having murdered Saga or that he would live in an honorable context.

But since the prosecutor has been charged with just that, his background must be carefully reviewed.

I don’t think she will have time to come up with anything on the day of the murder itself in today’s interrogation, it will probably only happen on the next trial day.

  • The prosecutor asks if he feels that he had higher demands on him from his parents than they had on his siblings and he says that he had that from the age of 15-16.

    – You could say that. But it was because of circumstances and things I had done that made my parents strict, says the 22-year-old.

He says that in his teens he started doing mischief.

    – It is a time when you are 15-16 years old that many people start to be drawn into things they should not be drawn into, and that was a contributing factor to my parents becoming more restrained with me.

  • How was your upbringing?

    – I feel that I had a good upbringing. Most of what I remember are good things. It felt safe, that’s what I can remember, says the 22-year-old.

He says he was raised to have respect and common decency.
