(Finance) – Strengthen mutual collaboration in prevention and management of natural and anthropogenic risks, develop decarbonisation initiatives and encourage environmental sustainability: this is the purpose of the agreement signed by Eni and Fire Brigade, signed at the National Operations Center, the beating heart of the National Corps rescue activity, by the prefect Laura Lega, Head of the Fire Department, Public Rescue and Civil Defense Department and by Giuseppe Ricci, Eni’s General Manager of Energy Evolution.
The Department – the note reads – intended to develop this protocol to increase the security level of national energy networks, a strategic issue for the countryalso affected by important public investments deriving from the PNRR, with particular reference to emergency and technical rescue contexts.
“This signature is a milestone to systematize and have a wide-ranging vision of the joint activities taking place in the area ”, underlined the prefect Lega.
The collaboration between the Fire Brigade and Eni will develop in various areas and on various initiatives based on sustainable inputs to protect health, safety and the environment such as: the dissemination of a correct culture of risk management, integration and industrial symbiosis to promote sustainable development and the prevention of hazards, also through the adoption of technologies cutting edge.
“In a world of great revolutions it is not possible to grow alone, but it is necessary to systematize and share the excellence of each one. The commitment in the production and distribution of all energy carriers, renewable, bio and low carbon, both in the sector electricity which in the transport sector represents a strategic lever for Eni to achieve a sustainable, just and safe energy transition “, declared Giuseppe Ricci.
Planned in addition, the enhancement of the training activity of the operational staff, the cooperation in the use of advanced technologies for the protection of the territory for the protection of the fundamental interests of the community, the development of shared intervention plans to deal with emergencies, the development synergies in activities to raise awareness on the issue of safety and in the use of biofuels.
The Head of the National Corps intervened at the signing, Guido Parisi, who, describing the functioning of the National Operations Center in the management of emergencies, underlined the importance of the operational synergy between entities for the achievement of increasingly higher levels of safety, the prefect Cinzia Guercio and the Central Emergency Directors, Marco Ghimenti and for prevention Stefano Marsella.
