(Telestock) – The shareholders’ meeting of the Catania Airport Company approved the 2023 financial statements which show a net profit of 3.309 million euros. The EBITDA was 15 million euros, with a production value of 104 million euros. The net financial position at the end of 2023 is 46 million euros.
Meanwhile, after having invested 10 million euros with its own funds to strengthen the airport infrastructures of the Catania and Comiso airports, SAC will have access to the Development and Cohesion Funds, recently approved by the regional president Schifani and the national government for a total of 56 million euros.
The management company itself specifies this in a note, adding that “Comiso airport will also be able to manage an increasingly large flow of passengers, offering quality services and positioning itself as an even more strategic infrastructure for a rapidly growing area”. In 2023, Catania airport saw the number of passengers grow by 6.34% compared to the previous year, reaching a total of 10,739,614. In Comiso, however, there were 303,414 passengers, down 16.81% compared to 2022, but from the end of 2023 traffic is on the rise following the opening of 16 national and international routes.
