Saara Keskitalo to her indoor record – Neziri’s “run opened a mental dam” | Sports in a nutshell

Saara Keskitalo to her indoor record Neziris run opened

In the Luxembourg indoor competition, Saara Keskitalo was fourth in the high-speed hurdles with her record of 8.03, and Nooralotta Neziri was sixth. In men, Elmo Lakka finished seventh.

Saara Keskitalo twice bettered his 60m hurdles record and ran fourth at the track and field Luxembourg International Indoor Championships on Sunday in 8.03. Nooralotta Neziri was sixth in the final with his season’s best time of 8.07

With a time of 8.03, Keskitalon rises to fourth place in Finland’s all-time record. The record of Keskitalo before Sunday was 8.12.

The record did not come as a surprise to Keskitalo. According to him, there are conditions for even better.

– Now you know where you can still blackmail. That is, I run from the beginning and then add more noise to the last fence intervals, analyzes Keskitalo Urheiluiliito’s press release.

“Running opened a mental dam”

Neziri was happy and relieved after the run. The competition showed that running and fitness are going in the right direction.

– I was unsure when I came here. I decided that in my head I wouldn’t give up, said Neziri.

Even though the run went on, according to Nezir, it doesn’t satisfy the hunger, but “opened a mental dam after three difficult years”.

– As a run, there was nothing special about these. It still lacks the suction of a steeplechase and the roar of a young lady, Neziri criticized.

The competition in Luxembourg was won by South Africa Marion Fourie with a time of 7.98.

Lakka scored 7.65 and 7.68, being seventh

Elmo Lakka was seventh in the men’s 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.68 after running the season’s top domestic time of 7.65 in the preliminaries. The start time was only two hundredths of a second behind Laka’s own record.

– A surprisingly good time, even though I wasn’t quite in the mood I wanted to be at the start of the season. Training fatigue, but isn’t that where you start to find it? Training has been going well since autumn, Lakka said.

The race was won by Poland, the silver medalist of the EC competitions in the second year Jakub Szymański with a record of 7.41.
