The Saab 9000 quickly made a name for itself as a robust car that managed to roll really far without any major problems. Therefore, many 9000 have had to end their lives as labor wolves with the scrap metal as their final destination.

Those that have not died the scrap death have in many cases been trimmed and ended up in the hands of speed-loving young people. Nor is it a perfect path to a high proportion of well-preserved originals.

This makes Skinner’s specimens that are for sale really stand out. Based on the pictures, the condition is as close as you can get to when the car was new. There is not the slightest hint of rust, which is common on 9000s that have been driven on Swedish roads.

The reason for the exceptional condition is probably that the car in question began its life in sunny California, far away from salted roads.

The car, which has been driven 16,000 miles, is painted in the delicious color imolar red which, together with the black pilot seats and sunroof, can be considered one of the most desirable configurations of a 9000 Aero.

As previously mentioned, the car is in excellent condition and it has also been properly tinkered with on the maintenance front. Among other things, the current owner has fitted a new steering rod, topped up the AC, replaced the valve cover gasket and replaced the servo pump.

The Saab 9000 is regarded by many as one of Saab’s most iconic models, but it has not reached the same iconic status as the first generation of the 900 yet, which is the reason why the price picture is significantly lower.

In other words, it could be that the 9000 has a fairly substantial price increase potential in the future as the number of copies gradually decreases while its popularity seems to increase.

The highest bid right now is $10,750 and bidding will end soon. It will be exciting to see if the bidding picks up during the last period.

However, it will have a hard time getting anywhere near the $145,000 as a 900 convertible in mint condition conditioned a year ago.
