Social Democrats party leader Magdalena Andersson wants Sweden to become a stronger voice for what she calls the only long-term path to peace in the Middle East.

– We social democrats, we demand that the EU now pause the trade agreement with Israel because this must have consequences, she says in her speech during Järva week.

During the last day of Järva Week, Andersson pays tribute to the three countries – Ireland, Spain and Norway – that recently recognized a Palestinian state.

– Both Israelis and Palestinians deserve to live their lives in safety, security, peace and freedom.

In her speech, she also focuses on Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine and criticizes the Sweden Democrats because the party’s top name, Charlie Weimers, announced that SD could consider cooperating in the EU with pro-Russian parties on the right – and calls it “anti-Swedish action”.

– To want to cooperate with pro-Russian parties is to risk the safety of the Swedish people.

– We will stand by Ukraine’s side until the last Russian soldier has left, Andersson continues.

Furthermore, she addresses, among other things, how the cost crisis has affected healthcare, elderly care and schools.

– I want us to build a stronger and better country – and then we need to start already at school.
