The Social Democrats’ party leader Magdalena Andersson, the former foreign minister Ann Linde and the party’s international secretary Paula Carvalho Olovsson are traveling to Chicago in the USA where the Democratic Party is holding a convention.
Among other things, the Swedes will have individual meetings with party representatives and visit election workers in the nearby state of Wisconsin, according to information to TT.
The former S-leader Stefan Löfven, who is now chairman of the unifying party of the European Social Democrats (PES), is also going to the convention which is held on 19-22 August. The Democrats have already agreed before the meeting, in a digital vote, to appoint the current Vice President Kamala Harris as the presidential candidate. She is expected to deliver her keynote speech on Thursday evening local time.
