Barely three months after the election, support for the Social Democrats and the red-green side increases sharply, according to Statistics Norway’s major party sympathy survey that came out on Thursday.
The opposition sees the result as proof that the government has betrayed its election promises, while the government wants to play down the importance of opinion polls.
Within S, the increase in opinion by over four percentage points is seen primarily as an expression of dissatisfaction with the government and the delayed electricity price support and the non-existent price reductions for petrol and diesel.
– The start for the government is very bad and it is the promises in the election campaign that are now punishing themselves. We knew it couldn’t be implemented, says Tobias Baudin, party secretary for the Social Democrats.
SD satisfied – even though they are backing down since the election
Even the Left Party is increasing in SCB’s big party sympathy survey. Compared to the election results, the red-green side has increased to a total of 52 percent, while the government and SD have retreated to 46.1.
The Sweden Democrats have a different approach to Statistics Sweden’s measurements. Despite the party’s decline by over two percentage points since the election, the party still sees itself as the winner.
– In the measurements, we have increased since the previous measurement. We have always been lower in the Statistics Sweden polls compared to the election results, says Mattias Bäckström Johansson, party secretary for SD.
