Petrol and diesel prices were hot throughout the election campaign and they have continued to be in focus after the new government lowered the tax by 14 öre and 40 öre respectively on petrol and diesel.
Now the Social Democrats are launching their version – a fuel discount that goes to all car owners who earn less than SEK 50,000 a month.
– Everyone sees that the government’s proposal did not produce what was thought and that it produced almost no effect, says Mikael Damberg, economic policy spokesperson for the Social Democrats.
The biggest fuel discount, SEK 2,000 a year per car, will go to those in the countryside.
