Before the conflict, the Tesla cars were unloaded by the port’s staff who drove off the cars from the vessels. But with the trade union Transport’s sympathy block against Tesla, the port employees refuse to do so.
Hires their own drivers
Tesla solves it by using foreign truck drivers that transport the cars on ferries from Germany to the port -owned premises in Trelleborg.
– The municipality that owns the port thus helps Tesla to round the blockade. Trelleborg Municipality must make sure to live up to the Swedish model. Back, do right and redo, says Lennart Höckert (S).
SD: “Don’t get in and poke there”
The municipal council’s chairman Mathias Andersson (SD) believes that the municipality should not control the port company in this way.
– Sure, we own the company, but they have their own CEO and board and they make their own decisions according to what is best for the company. They have the detailed skills. We politicians should not in and poke there, he says.
