JO directs serious criticism at Anna Kinberg Batra’s friend recruitments and believes that she is guilty of fraud.
Now the opposition demands that the government act to rebuild trust in the County Board.
– I think that the conditions for Anna Kinberg Batra to be allowed to remain as governor in Stockholm County are extremely small, says former Minister of Civil Affairs and current Member of Parliament Ida Karkiainen (S).
The criticism directed at Anna Kinberg Batra is harsh.
– The governor’s actions testify to nonchalance and a lack of respect for the basic regulations that exist to maintain public trust in public activities, says JO Per Lennerbrant in a press release.
A: “Extensive measures will be required”
Now the opposition expects that not only Anna Kinberg Batra, but also the government will take the criticism to heart and act accordingly.
– This is not just about the head of the authority, it is also about trust in the entire authority. It’s about trying to rebuild trust in the authority, which has been destroyed by this action, says Ida Karkiainen (S), former civil minister.
Ida Karkiainen, who is also chairman of the constitutional committee, sees Anna Kinberg Batra’s chances of remaining in office as “extremely small”.
– But if they make the assessment that she can stay, then extensive measures will be required to build trust and then the government must show how they intend to do it, says Karkiainen.
“Kinberg Batra’s responsibility to restore trust”
Minister of Civil Affairs Erik Slottner (M) is responsible for Sweden’s county administrative boards. He tells TV4 Nyheterna that the government is in the process of analyzing JO’s decision and that the governor is expected to take on board the criticism directed at her.
“The county boards have an important role in Swedish state administration. It is extremely important that the authority carries out its mission in a way that deserves the trust of citizens and employees,” he writes in an email.
He completely transfers the responsibility for rebuilding trust in the County Board of Stockholm County to Anna Kinberg Batra.
“We have always been clear that it is Anna Kinberg Batra’s responsibility to now restore trust in the County Administrative Board in Stockholm County. The government has confidence in all agency heads until further notice,” he continues.
