S and M in a race to see who is the best at fighting crime

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

On Sunday, both Moderate leader Ulf Kristersson and Social Democrats party leader Magdalena Andersson spoke.

Magdalena Andersson was in Gothenburg and raised, among other things, issues such as care, climate and schools. But it was primarily crime that was in focus. The Social Democrats are now launching a series of measures to address the growing crime rate.
– We do not tolerate twelve-year-olds having to stand guard at drug deals, said the S leader.

The Social Democrats are proposing a completely new crime for anyone who recruits minors into crime. For example, to let children and teenagers act as couriers with drugs or money. The proposed penalty is imprisonment for a maximum of four years.

M wants double punishment

Ulf Kristersson, who spoke in the summer in Strängnäs, also thinks it is good with tougher penalties, but calls for more powerful measures than what the Social Democrats are proposing. Among other things, he points to the Moderates’ proposal for double punishment for crimes committed within the framework of criminal gangs. It goes, according to Kristersson, considerably further than the provision for toughening the penalty that S wants to introduce.
– We want double punishment. Literally speaking, says Kristersson.
