These days, no one can imagine Deadpool without the cheeky attitude of Ryan Reynolds in the role. With the two previous film adaptations of the comic anti-hero, big hits have emerged all fans happy have made.
But before Deadpool’s success, Reynolds had very afraid of disappointing precisely this target group. That’s because of three superhero movies with him that came out before that either flopped or are hated to this day.

Ryan Reynolds Had Deadpool Doubts Over Bad Superhero Experience
In a short video for The Hollywood Reporter, the star briefly talks about his Deadpool concerns at the start:

In the clip, Reynolds primarily cites his bad experience with pre-Deadpool superhero films as the reason he was afraid disappointing fans of the character. In his career, Reynolds played, among other things, in Blade: Trinity, which was rather disappointing financially.
He also starred in the massive box office flop Green Lantern, which hated by many to this day becomes. And let’s not even talk about his first appearance as Wade Wilson in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
The first Deadpool film gave Reynolds his bad superhero experience but finally leave behind. With a budget of just over $58 million, the film grossed almost $800 million at the box office worldwide.
