Facts: Laver Cup
The competition runs over three days with four matches played each day, with possibly fewer matches on the final day depending on points standings.
Both singles (three a day) and doubles matches (one a day) are decided in the best of three sets, where points are also awarded.
Each player plays at least one singles match in the first two days and no player can play more than two singles matches in the three days.
First team to reach 13 points wins the Laver Cup. Points increase every day and are awarded for every match a team wins. On the first day one point is awarded, on the second day two points and on the third and last day three points.

This autumn, the fifth edition of the Laver Cup will be played. In the tournament, a European team faces a team from the rest of the world.
Swedish tennis legend Björn Borg has led Team Europe since its inception. This year, he has put together a star-studded team.
Greek world number seven Stefanos Tsitsipas and super talent Casper Ruud, from Norway, take the last two spots in Team Europe.
— It will be an absolutely incredible tournament, says Ruud and continues:
— We have a full team with the four best players of the last 20 years and three of the greatest legends in the history of tennis.
Superstars already ready
It was already clear that the superstars Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Andy Murray represent Europe.
The Norwegian has played against all his teammates.
“It will be absolutely fantastic for me to have the opportunity to play in a team with them and learn as much as possible,” says the Norwegian, who has climbed to number five in the world ranking.
“Really looking forward to it”
Ruud also played in the European team in last year’s edition of the tournament.
— I will do my best and I am really looking forward to it. It’s a boyhood dream come true.
Team Europe has won all four previous editions of the Laver Cup. Competition is played in honor of Australian tennis legend Rod Laver.
The rest of the world, led by the legendary John McEnroe, has so far finished with four of six players: Jack Sock, USA, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Canada, Taylor Fritz, USA, and Diego Schwartzman, Argentina.
