Rutte’s selection as NATO’s new secretary general is being confirmed | News in brief

Slovakia announced on Tuesday that it is ready to support the outgoing Dutch prime minister Mark Rutten election as the new Secretary General of NATO.

Dutch newspapers are reporting today, based on anonymous official sources, that Hungary is also about to agree to support Rutte’s election.

If the news about Hungary’s new position is true, Romania is the only NATO member country that has not given the green light to Rutte’s election.
