The Ukrainian cyber attack is now in its fifth day and has been very successful in disrupting the Russian economy.

So far, the attack has, among other things, succeeded in freezing bank transfers, hitting Russian social media and giving access to the big banks’ databases.

During Saturday, several Russians also lost the ability to use ATMs to withdraw cash.

The users’ cards were allegedly blocked when they tried to use the ATMs.

In total, ten Russian banks were affected.

“An unprecedented attack carried out by specialists from the Ministry of Defense has been launched against the Russian banking sector, which is involved in financing the Russian aggressions,” writes a source in the Ukrainian intelligence service to the English-language Ukrainian newspaper Kyiv Post.
