Russian soldier testifies to slaughter at the front

Anton Gerashchenko, who works as an advisor to Ukraine’s interior minister, has published a video on their social media which is said to show a Russian soldier captured by Ukrainian forces.

The soldier testifies to how ill-prepared the newly drafted Russians are and how he has been sent to the front in Ukraine with almost no military training at all.

– They gave us some automatic rifles and drove us to the shooting range. There I shot two or three times and after four days we were sent to slaughter, to war, says the soldier in the clip.

Defense lie

The Russian man claims his commander lied to the troops about what they were supposed to do on the front lines.

– We were told: “now you just have to sit on the defensive, stay a bit and strengthen the positions and then you withdraw immediately”, says the soldier and continues.

– It turned out that we were on the defensive for one or two days and that was it. Then we were sent straight to the front line.

Increased Russian discontent

Furthermore, the man says that he was injured in battle and sent to a military hospital, where they bandaged his wounds.

– I was there for five or six days. And that was it, I was discharged immediately, says the soldier.

Dissatisfaction with the treatment of soldiers is growing in Russia, reports say Kyiv Post. On Saturday, wives of Russians mobilized to fight laid flowers just below the Kremlin walls, demanding the return of their husbands from the front.
