Russian rocket attacks – several dead

The city of Kramatorsk in eastern Ukraine has been subjected to Russian rocket attacks during Saturday evening.
“A difficult night, Kramatorsk has been under enemy fire,” writes Donetsk region governor Vadym Filashkin on Telegram.

According to Governor Filashkin, two people have died in the attacks on Saturday night, but it is feared that one more person is among the racial masses. Russia reportedly fired three rockets at an industrial area and civilian buildings.

“Probably a family of three is under the rubble of a house,” writes Filashkin.

Two houses are said to have been destroyed and 23 people injured in the attacks. Emergency services and police are now working at the scene.

Kramatorsk has previously been shelled by Russia several times. In the spring of 2022, the train station in the city was visited and over 60 people were killed. Last summer, a pizzeria in the city was attacked by Russian robots. At least nine people died, three of them children, and 60 people were injured.

Russia claims to have captured Avdiivka

Russian forces also claim to have taken control of the entire town of Avdiivka in Ukraine, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, according to the AP. Ukraine has previously announced that it has withdrawn its troops from the city that it has been fighting for for four months. Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi has previously announced that it was his decision to leave the city.

“Based on the operational situation around Avdijivka, in order to avoid encirclement and preserve the lives and health of soldiers, I decided to withdraw our units from the city to defend more favorable front lines,” Syrskyj said in a statement on Saturday night.
