Russian and Belarusian athletes are allowed to participate in the Olympics under a neutral flag, but they are not allowed to participate in the opening ceremony.
Now Russia responds to the opening nob, which was decided on Tuesday.
“We are outraged by the unprecedented discriminatory conditions imposed by the International Olympic Committee,” says Maria Zakharovaspokesperson at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The conditions for athletes from Russia and Belarus to even participate in the Olympics are that they do not actively support the war or be employed or contracted by the countries’ military or security services. Russian and Belarusian teams are still suspended from Olympic participation.
