Alsu Kurmasheva has worked in the Tatar-Bashkir service of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.
The Russian court ruled against the Russian-American journalist Alsu Kurmasheva on Monday to six and a half years in prison.
According to the court, Kurmasheva spread false information about the Russian army.
Kurmasheva was arrested in June in Kazan when she visited her mother. She is a mother of two children and lives in Prague.
The head of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty commented on the verdict to the AP, saying it was a “mockery of justice”.
